Relocation allowance

Hi,

I was working at company A in city X.

I got an offer with company B in city Y so I relocated to city Y.

Company B reimbursed my relocation expences that I actually incurred for relocating to city Y. However, these expences were incurred before my date of joining company B.

Is this allowance taxable or will it be considered as Transfer allowance and will be exempted from Tax?
