An Individual Mr. X has a proprietorship M/s ABC. this firm is registered under service tax. now Mr. X is going to start another proprietorship M/s XYZ. question is that whether Mr. X has to add this new proprietorship with old service tax registration no. or apply for new registration no.? because the PAN no. is same for both the firms.

1) You can opt for Centralized Registration with the Service Tax Department.
2) In Centralized Registration, the accounts of both the proprietary concerns will be maintained at one place and the Service Tax of both the concerns will be payable by the office of registration.
3) Till the Centralized registrion is obtain from the dept., you will have to file separate Service Tax Returns for both the Concerns.
