Registration for service tax (gta)
We are newly registered with Excise in Dec'2015. Is it Necessary to get registered with Service Tax (GTA) for Service tax on Freight.

Yes, if you are registered with CE, then you need to pay ST on freight on RCM basis (wherever applicable) and hence ST registration is compulsory
