can i just quote the SECTION and not the subections or clauses of it in the exam.. suppose the answer of a question is according to sec 3(1)(a) .. now if i could only remember SEC 3 and not the subsections or clause...can i write like that ?

If your answer is correct then only your section reference will be checked so first concentrate on the demand of the question.
If you don't know the section don't write the section as you might loose the marks of theoritical answer you wrote.
So write section only if you are 100% sure
