Refund of fees including service tax
If I received fees from a student including service tax after some days he asked for refund of fees then what is to be done while refunding fees
1. Fees including service tax
2. Fees excluding service tax

Refund the fees including the service tax and issue a debit note for the same.
You can adjust the service tax against any other liability or claim refund from the department, if any paid.

First of all, as per the present provisions unless it is an advance fees the refund of ST may not be possible. If there is a facility that one can pay biut is eligible for refund in a week/ motnh etc. then the amoutn received canbe said to be an advance.
If advance can be adjusted in the subsequent month/s in the return.
Otherwise only option would be refund which is quite cumbersome.
