i think 12%, as only the ammendment before 6 month is to be applicable for the exams and as far as the ST rate is concerned it has changed from 24th feb.

The rate of Service Tax is applicable in Practice is Now 10.30 %(including EC & SHEC)

But For Exam the rate is applicable Only 10.30 %

For your kind information Mr. Abuzar rate for exam purpose will be 12.36%.

For your satisfaction go to revision test paper issued by ICAI. Q.20

These are the exams for CHARTERED ACCOUNTANCY, don't go with the institute's RTP as this was printed before revision of rate.

I will suggest you to be practical always, apply 12.36% if the date referred in the question is prior to 24 Feb 2009 else apply 10.3%. It will also show that you are keeping updated to yourself.

10.3% IS APPLICABLE FOR NOVEMBER ATTEMPT

FOR JUNE 2009 EXAMS,  AMENDMENTS UPTO 31ST OCTOBER 2008 ARE APLICABLE. HENCE, RATE APPLICABLE IS 12.30% AND DEFINITELY NOT 10.30%

(SINCE 10% RATE IS APPLICABLE W.E.F.24TH FEBRUARY 2009)

Rajesh is absolutely right,  any amendmant minimum takes 6 months to get applicable in examination, therefor it is quite sure that 12.36% will be applicable for june attempt

Yes MR. Rajesh & MR. Vipin is right ammendment which took place before 6 months is applicable in exam..
