30 June 2008Do you think, it is good that last date for filing ITR for tax audit cases is preponed to sep instead of oct ?

Yes, firstly 6 months are enough to complete the things, secondly yor articles are free to appear for Nov Exams and lastly you have time to enjoy the festivel season like Diwali etc.
Dear Sir,
I am proprietor of J.M.Investigation & Bureo and earned professional Income of
Rs.30.50 Lac during FY 2007-08.According to my CA audit report has been prepared on 26.09.2008 but my ITR has filed on 08.10.2008. My Net profit is Rs.11.06 Lac and TDS is Rs.2.96 Lac. Please suggest me about ITR penalty.

If the return is not file within the due date, then in case of tax audit cases penalty upto a maximum of Rs.100000/- can be levied.
