MENTION IMPORTANT CHAPTERS FROM WHERE QUESTION FRAMES  DEFINITELY...........!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Rahul,

First understand GCL is a very scoring subject. If you use your working knowledge of GCL acts with good writing skills than you can score around 70 marks in GCL.

Kindly note – only working knowledge is enough in GCL with certain other facts. Reason being the acts which are there in the GCL Course have no such application in your professional working if you are working as a CS. Well this is my personal opinion.

Further GCL is a practical (theory based and not numerical based) paper which needs a good presentation skills. Use ICSI guidelines of previous 5 years to understand the method of solving practical queries. One more thing these practical queries takes very little time in exam provided you are well aware of the technique to deal with them.

Another important fact is ICSI repeatedly asked the same practical queries so in this way completion of scanner is very very important in GCL.

Another useful aspect of practical queries is that sometimes they also help you to understand the theory written in study material. In other words you may use the practical queries as an example to understand the theory written in study material. Isa kehta hain ek teer do shikar.

Hope the above suggestions would be off some help.

Best Regards

Regarding chapters I’d like to say that start your preparation from the small chapters (page number wise). Refer the scanner same time to understand the scheme and importance of chapter.

Treat the chapters of Cr. P.C. and C.P.C. as most interesting and knowledgeable chapters as you are going to learn about the civil and criminal law of the country. Attach a different attitude with different chapters as it’ll help you to develop an interest towards the chapter.

Make special notes for the chapter constitution of India and grab this chapter fully as this one is the most important one.

Discuss some technical chapters like Indian Evidence Act with your friend for better understand. For conventional list of important chapters use Scanner.

All the Best

Thanks a lot  Ankur..........

Thanks very much sir for these valueable tips:)

But sir can u tell me that preparing from guidelines answers is necessary or not. i mean to say that i am using module and scanner for GCL preparation.

No yaar jeet. In GCL guidelines are very very imp. Just for practical question purpose. Most of the time you get the  Q in exam from scanner.

This kind of confidence and dependency on notes is the main reason behind poor (In fact very very poor) performance and knowledge level of newly qualified Company Secretaries.

Books ko refer hi nahi karna chahta. Recently my senior fired a CS trainee from one of our group company. O O She was also the past student of Mr. Sangeet Kadia. What a co-incidence.

Anyways Rahul don’t feel bad as the above is 200% not for you as you are quite a committed student. I know that. But the above is a fact.

Dear Jeet and Rahul,

Let me tell you we cannot ignore the importance of CS guidelines for GCL practical problems. However considering your friend’s advice it may be possible that Mr. Kadia’s notes include the solution of all past GCL questions.

If it is true than you may refer his notes as our main motive is proper solution of GCL practical questions. But your GCL Scanner should be 100% complete. During my time there were no such notes at all and we had to refer to CS guidelines for GCL practical problems.

Best Regards
