Dealing with Someone Who Feels They Are Always Right?
Everyone knows at least one person who believes that they are always right, whether the person is their brother or distant cousin on their father's side of the family or your freind or business partner etc.
Its become strained and difficult
Avoid Controversial Topics
Someone who is "always right" will thrive on conversations where they can prove their superior knowledge with lots of complicated facts and figures. But if you want to avoid another round of sparring back and forth on a subject that has already been beaten to death in the past, try to avoid controversial topics where your views will be trampled on and then dismissed.
Agree to Disagree
A "know it all" will want to gain a victory in their conversation with other people. But rather than conceding defeat each time you are with this person, sometimes it is best to politely agree to disagree. Do not be rude about it. State that while you appreciate the person's point of view, you share different views on the matter and then leave it at that. Change the subject if you are able to.
Find Common Ground
There is no need to argue when you are engaged in conversation with a know it all. Instead, try to find common ground with them by initiating a conversation that you feel is "safe" territory and will not bring you into conflict with them. This can help to divert the conversation into a more pleasant direction that does not have you struggling to keep up the pace.
