PE-II to IPCC is the BEST

Dear Friends,

Its better to switchover from the PE-II to IPCC scheme. Because in the coming two more PE-II exams the exam passing percentage will be made even more reduced from the last time(i.e Jun 2009). The reason is that the PE-II syllabus is more outdated. The institute is intending to give more weightage to the new scheme to cope with the international requirements.  Moreover ICAI is heading towards to be parallel with the standards of global accounting professional bodies.

In the future only the students of PE-II who will give  an outstanding performance in the exams will be only allowed to pass. The average students will face much difficulty in passing the PE-II exams becuse of the exam paper valuation will be made very very tough.

Therefore it is better and advisable to switchover to IPCC than remaining in the PE-II for another expensive one year.

yes i agree especially those who have 2 groups or so left . those with one grps can continue with pe2

Definitely agree...but for those with one group left..after already failing this June attempt, we find that the Final attempt will be delayed by one more attempt, as in IPCC you can only do it in last 6 mnths, and not last 12 mnths. Animesh is right, if you have both groups pending, switch to IPCC. If you have one group pending, I suggest stay with PE-2, but slog hard.

I checked with institute and they said passing 1 group to start articleship is unique to IPCC course; that is, if you have passed one group of PE-2, you cannot start articleship straight off. You will need to specifically clear the 4 subjects of IPCC group 1. So, for all PE-2 and IPCC students, articleship will only start after Nov 09 results are declared not before. That was my prime concern, i wanted to start articleship early. Since that was not applicable it was an easy decision to stay with PE-2.

Also, an honest opinion from an ICAI source from Bombay: IPCC is also a new course, there is no objective as of now to arbitrarily ensure that only IPCC  students pass their group 1 easily and start articleship. IPCC group 1 will also be quite difficult to pass.

for me then i hv to go to PE-II ONLY.... I SAW THE FOLLOWING ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY AFTER SUBMITTING PE-II EXAM FORM...THOUGH I CONVERTED TO IPCC ON 31/7/09...i GOT EXEMPTION IN AUDITING & LAW. THIS JUNE...SO FOR ME A/C & GROUP-2 LEFT..I AM GOING WITH PE-II ...:-
