Efiling 140 views 10 replies

I paid my tax amount through efiling.

CIN generated and got everything like bsr code etc.

But crn has status of payment failed.

Hence tax payment status is showing payment failed. The amount is big amount and i am clueless as to what to do now ?

While payment there was a issue in first attempt,  second attempt was successful.

Kindly guide.

Whether the payment has been deducted from your account?

Yes. Payment done successfully from my end. Amount deducted and challan reciept also there.

If the BSR code is generated means the payment is successful, and the massage received is a glitch. So wait for the challan to get reflected in the system (max. two days).

Alternatively, if the payment gets credited back to your account within 24 hours; regenerate new payment with new CIN.

Yes i got bsr code. Ok then I guess need to wait till Monday.

Thank you sir for your guidance.

Be assured... Once confirmation is received by ITD for the receipt of payment, system changes it automatically to paid.

Good luck...

@ Sahana

The BSR code is generated by the Bank, not by OLTAS.

So call the bank and verify why OLTAS has not given confirmation of receiving payment.

Secondly, one advice.

When it is a large amount, then pay in many lots of small amounts, that way, in case of  any issues, your whole large amount is not stuck inside Internet

@ Sahana

One more thing.

You also wrote in the Heading that "Challan Downloaded".

Challan is issued not by bank but by OLTAS [I-T Dept].

If you got the Challan, that means it is against your second, successful, payment effort.

And "Payment Failed" status is for your first, unsuccessful, payment effort.

Log in to I-T Side and verify directly and redownload the challan.

Thanks for the inputs @ Ranjan sir. But do you know what's the url for IT side?

Also I cant everify which is very important. Any idea about that.

@ Sahana

1) Regarding your question about IT Site:- https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/

You have to create your account using your PAN card, mobile number.

Once you login, You click on e-File menu, that will give you a drop down with various selections. One of the selections is E-Pay Tax. You click on that to get to the e-Pay Tax section and can locate your tax payments and also redownload the challan for successful paid tax.

2) Regarding eVerify, the same web page will provide you menu for eVerification. The easiest way this year is to use the everify through aadhaar. You have to click on the Income Tax Returns submenu on e-File, it will show you the already filed ITR, and give you option for eVerification.

Hope everything is clear now.
