Optional registration for service tax and exemption benifit

One of My friend establishing new photo studio business and needs optional service tax registration. if he apply for optional service tax registration than exemption of Rs. 10 lakhs available or not ? 

please suggest.

Dear Mohit, I dont there is any such optional service tax registration system prevailing. According to service tax rules it is mentioned that when small service provider value of services exceed Rs. 9 lakhs, registration should be done. And yes to small service provider 10 exemption is available.

Yes if he is a small service provider than he will get this exemption. Dear I think it in sec 69 please read it from there, I am sure being a c.a you will understand it much better from there. Regards
