Hi, for the shares that I am holding of x, y, z companies are the stock price as on 31st Jan'18 important for this FY? or will that day's high vs my original purchase price(whichever is higher) becomes my new purchase price for anytime I sell in the future??

Yes, that day's high vs your original purchase price(whichever is higher) becomes your purchase price for anytime you sell in the future. (for calculation of L T cap. Gain)
