I recently update my PAN card with my new surname (post marriage). The PAN number remained same.Only I got a new PAN card with a new last name.However I did not change my name in my bank account.Recently the bank has deucted TDS and sent a form 16 A. In that my maiden name is mentioned. Will this create a problem when I file my tax return for FY2009-10

I don't think so.
They will not verify it with your name, but with your PAN No., which is same.

u can file ur return simply as u file earlier. the only thing is considerable in this case is pan no.not ur name.

Simpily file the Return of Income as eariler years.
Now its online where you do not have to submit the TDS ceertificate.

Namrata u have to change your name in the Bank record also because in case of refund, Refund will be issued in the new name with bank account number.
If you would not change your name in Bank record then it will create a problem for you for claiming refund.

Only PAN is sufficient and u dont need to attach the certificate with your ur ITR.
so dont worry PAN is tha main thing
