Dear All,
Given that Election Commission has stated that General Elections will be held in late April over six phases spilling over to May 2014, it is now highly expected that ICAI may postpone the exams to June 2014.
Nevertheless, keep your preparations with May in mind. Hopefully, ICAI will give you an additional month for preparation!!!

Vikas, I believe notification should be out soon. But last time in 2009 they delayed the notification because of the same reason - elections!. So just wait and watch.
Sir, though ICAI have not made any announcement regarding exams date but as from the news its clear that the elections are going to be held from say mid of april , & as we know the elcetion process will take minimum of 20 to 30 days time to complete... So is it not a sufficent evidence to believe that exams will get postponed ?? or is thr a chance or can it be possiable for exam being held in between the elections???

No chance of exams being held between elections. There is a pretty good chance that exams will be held in June 2014.

take the news in a positive way.. if it is shifted to june you have one extra month for revision.. any way in 2009 it was not may 2009, but june 2009!!!

A follow up. ICAI has issued the notification for May 2014 exams.
However, it does come with a caveat that

"The dates of the examinations may likely be modified in view of the election to the 16th Lok Sabha."
keep your preparations for May. However, there is a very good chance of exams getting postponed once general elections schedule is announced. Regardless keep working hard and dont wager on June..

definitive schedule should be out around Feb end as election commission announces schedule 60 days in advance of the first round of elections.

Yes as of now...but please wait for election notification. More or less it will get postponed to June...But yes, as of now, prepare keeping May in mind.

Please note that ICAI has just removed the notification...this all will continue till general elections notification is finalized...please keep preparing and focus on May...Hopefully exams will happen in June...regardless, please prepare for MAY.
