my employer did not pay for my LTA allowances since 2007. now, ie., JAN-2010 they have paid for the year of 2007,2008 & 2009. In the situvation can I claim the total LTA amount as exempt from tax?

Dear S. Anand,
LTA Exemption is available for 2 journies in a Block of 4 years, It has nothing to do with the year to which it pertains..
However if u have not claimed any LTA exemption for a Block then u can carry forward 1 journey to be claimed in the first year of the next Block.
As far as LTA for past years is concerned u can claim Relief u/s 89(1) on account of arrears of salary.......
