The fees towards their services crosses the amount of Re 20.00 Lakhs.
Now, mandatorily he needs to register for GST Number?or not.

Yes certainly but not immediately after the contract is awarded. The contract will be completed after the completion of the work/service. In such cases bill for ascertaining work certified will be booked on completion of the work.
Advocates are not liable for forward charge their services are liable for RCM if provided to registered parties. Advocates are not liable to get themselves registered under GST since their services are covered under RCM and the supplier of goods or services which exclusively comes under RCM is exempt from registration.
