Knowledge v/s contacts

Knowledge with contact... For current envirnoment... 

Yes Knowledge plus contacts make it easy to reach top but I am talking only about ONLY CONTACTS and ONLY KNOWLEDGE in which contact works and knowledge fails.

There are many cases where people have no knowledge about their field but just based on contacts reach top and people with knowledge are just used e.g. our X PM ;-)
