Karnataka vat for frozen meat products

Hello everyone..I have recently taken distribution of frozen emu meat in bangalore for hyderabad based company,but confused with the tax need to be paid as the products are purchased from a different state..

Please help me in the following queries.

1.If the MRP is at 420 rs and purchase price is at 320 rs for frozen meat..wat would be the VAT paid considering the products purchased from AP,being a distributor do I get any tax benefits.

2.Do the retailer also has to pay tax for the frozen meat products which I have supplied to him.

3.Also please give me the exact VAT for frozen meat products.

Mr Pradeep Reddy,

In Karnataka VAT on frozen meat is 5%. No extra benifit for bringing the frozen meat from AP. You are the first seller in Karnataka for your company products.You have to collect VAT @ 5% on your sales and pay it along with returns each month. Purchase price does not matter here. Your retailers also have to charge VAT @ 5% in their invoices,but they can pay only the difference of tax (output -input) to the department....
