Hi Mansa,

 You can try one more method, if you are having some idea about the probable date. You go to income tax site>PAN>Know your PAN => enter the name & probabale date of birth (use trial & error method for date of birth), if the resultant PAN matches, ur problem is solved.

You can checked it by call to  Tin(NSDL ) department Bombay -022-27218080, 81or Aaykar Sampark 0124-243800.

you can check it out in the income tax website either by using the pan card number or by name and other details of the user.

you can get the pan number from the person's e-mail recieved from IT dept. or from bank details submitted by him.
