Yes you can file updated return

Wondering how you even understood the question !!  People ask questions which are incomprehensible

@ Kollipara Sundaraiya,

The Assessee can't file ITR in any of that two modes...
How as we are filing now also.
@ CA Rashmi Gandhi,

The query is :

assessess itr-u - ITR U is not possible based on the said income. Bcoz, no tax liability.

or normal itr returns - Normal ITR can't file as date is gone.

Am I Right...??!
Where the income is more than Rs 2,50,000/- a late fee of Rs.1000 is payable and accordingly assessee is able to file ITR-U.
Yes. But IT site is not allowing. Since tax payable is NIL. Late fee is considered as tax.
We are filing the returns and same was accepted by the portal
No, Still the TAX payable is zero.
Upto 5 lakhs...
The late fee is not considered as Tax...

So, No way for ITR filing for the said question.
But portal is accepting the return and get it processed.

Portal Accept returns even if no payments, Refunds and Nil.

But, Notice must be issued by ITD.

Check and Confirm the same...

I got the return processed successfully

Yes, You are exactly correct.

We can file return. it can be accepted by portal. Also it can be processed after verifying the return.

But, It's very simple, after above all dept raise notice with demand.
