ITR for no income but high value transactions

I have purchased gold jewellery worth 2,69,000 mentioning my PAN while transaction was made from my spouse's account in FY 2021-2022.

No ITR filed by me as I my income as housewife is NIL. Now IT dept is sending email to me: "Submit your ITR for AY 2022-23."

Total transactions in my a/c for the FY is 1,80,000/-
If I have to submit return, how much income should I show? And which ITR form?

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses a query from a housewife with no income who received a notice to file an Income Tax Return (ITR) due to high-value jewellery purchases made using her PAN from her spouse's account. The advice suggests checking bank transactions for other income sources, including bank interest, and declaring the jewellery as a gift from her husband when filing the ITR. The correct ITR form will depend on the declared income.

Check your bank transactions of Rs. 1,80,000/- for any income from other sources.

Add to that bank interest.

File the ITR with said income including gift of the jewelry from your husband.

OK. Thanks and regards.
