14 July 2025Recentlty one of our consignment got detained en route . The officer was claimin IRN print out is essential at e_waybill print out. Though the vehicle got released but my questions are
Is there any change in GST rules regarding e_waybill ? &
Can the vehicle be detained by autority in absence of IRN in e_wabill print out
We generate e_waybill through API system.

Vehicle deterntion: Generally, the absence of an IRN on the e-waybill printout should not be a grounds for detention if all other details are correctly filled and the e-way bill is generated through the API system, as you have mentioned.However, authorites may exercise discretion based on the specific circumstances of each case.It is advisable to carry all relevant documents, including the e-waybill and any communication with the GST PORTAL
