No Venkatesh... Nine months of industrial Training equals nine months of articleship only... I think u misunderstood the provision regarding industrial training... IcaI says that the period of industrial training is subject to a minimum period of 9 months and maximum period of twelve months.

1. Select the field in which you want ot do industrial training
2. then select the company in that field in which you think you can get good exposure
3. then see whether that company is eligible for imparting industrial training as per the list issued by the ICAI region wise.....
4. if not covered then see whether the criteria specified by ICAI are fulfilled by that company or not...
5. if criteria are not fullfilled then you cant do industrial training in that company......
6. if it is covered or fullfilling the criteria then approach the company directly and see whether they take industrial trainees and there is vacancy at that particular time......
so the tip is select 8 to 10 companies in that field and approach directly with your CV, definately will get in one or the other..........
but the excercise starts with selecting the field and the company...........
