The name on the PAN card is apperaing correctly i.e MITHUN AUGUSTINE.
As I am trying to file my returns for a refund I find that the name has been wrongly stated (Surname showing: Mithun and First name showing as: Augustine) when using the Know Your Jurisdiction Link on the Income Tax Returns e-Filing site.
How do I correct the same? Do I write to the Income Tax Authorities or just apply on the NSDL site for change in PAN details when there is no apparent need from the face of the PAN card I hold?

I called the TIN Call Centre in Pune (020-27218080) and they have asked me to apply for changes in PAN via the https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan/correction.H T M L. The mistake was due to an error in filling the form originaly where the name on application and the name to appear on PAN card fields were different.
