Income Tax refund

Hi

Our IT refunds are pending with AO for 2 AYs. For one of the year, rectification order was passed, but refund has not been issued to the banker. For other, refund cheque could not be delivered to us, and now we have made a reissue request. Both these refunds are stuck for past 5 months. AO is not releasing refund orders to the bank. He closed all the grievances stating refund will be issues in due course.

Do we have recourse to any higher authority. Where can we raise our concern against AO.

Quick Summary
This discussion concerns income tax refunds that have been pending with the Assessing Officer (AO) for two assessment years, despite rectification orders being passed or reissue requests being made. The user is seeking recourse as the AO is not releasing the refunds and is closing grievances without resolution. They are asking for advice on higher authorities or channels to escalate their concerns against the AO, with an RTI application being considered as a last resort.

Last option is to make an RTI application.
You can raise grievance to AO regarding refund and mention that Rectification order has passed so release the payment

We have raised grievances earlier also, but very conveniently, he closes all of it, without any resolution to it. That is why needed next authority, where we can escalate.
