Step 1 =>3,78,000+1,00,000=4,78,000
Tax on 4,78,000 =8900
Step 2 => 1,00,000+3,00,000(Basic exempt.limit)=4,00,000
Tax on 4,00,000=5000
Step 3 =>8900-5,000=3900
Total tax payable = 3900+3% EC=4017=4020
