First you need to download ITR-4 online return from Income tax site then after filling every sheet of ITR-4 you have button called generate, if you click that it will get generated to xml format . That xml file need to upload on site...

your file may be in .xlxs format i.e. in office 2007 format....yo need to convert in .xml format i.e. in office 2003 format.
