Home Loan Interest

Hello, 

My name is vinay and i was on study leave for a year (2008-2009). I have a home loan and paid an EMi of 1.56L( 1.2L Principal and 36K interest) out of my savings.

am employed this year,This year i have paid 1.56L  towards EMI( 1.3L Principal and 26K interest)

Can i claim for Principal and Interest deduction for previous year in this year as i had not claimed due to no income.

Please advise.
