Happy Birthday, Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetan Buddhists, whose real name is Tenzin Gyatso, celebrates his birthday on 6 July. He is a very lovable personality, who is a source of inspiration to millions around the world. The Dalai Lama is well-known for his lifelong advocacy for Tibetans inside and outside Tibet since his exile from Tibet in 1959. As every year, this year too, the Tibetan community based in Dharamsala, India, where the Dalai Lama has been staying since 1959, would probably celebrate their leader's birthday by waving banners and lighting incense, even as Buddhist.
