Gst is only levied on Renting of commercial property but not levied on Renting of Residential property.
In your case you are paying rent for renting godown which is for commercial use. Therefore, GST is applicable.
However, if the total value of services provided and goods supplied by owner of the godown during the year is less than Rs. 20lakhs and doesn't have a GST registration GST on Rent is exempt.
Note: The limit of Rs 20 lakhs is for all the states except the states mentioned below.
