Hi

I am registered dealer under GST. I had paid Truck Freight as under.

A.Rs.700 to a unregistered goods transport agency on 7th July,2017.

B.Rs.4500 to a unregistered goods transport agency on 10th July,2017.

C.Rs.40500 to a registered goods transport agency on 15th July,2017.

All the above goods transport agency not charged any GST on the truck freight.Now on which of the above transactions;Should I Charge RCM(Reverse charge mechanism)
and how the accounting entries will be passed.Also whether can I claim Input credit of the above RCM;If yes how the accounting entries will be passed ?

 for Rs.700 transportation charges not liable to RCM , Rs. 1500 in single consignment for multiple consignment 750 is limit for GTA service. as previously in Service tax

Rs. 4500 paid on 10th july the account entry as under :

Transporatation Expenses  Debit 4500

Cash/bank Account Credit 4500

SGST/CGST/IGST Receiable debit 225

SGST/CGST/IGST Payable Credit 225

Note = Payable Calculation (4500 x 5%)

Third  one  40500 , as per GST Act  taxable Goods transport by Road under RCM,  and service receiver liable to pay the tax , hance  GTA not colleting the tax from you and you have to paid under RCM, the calulation and rate as above and accounting entry is same.

also you can claim input tax credit after payment of GST and also feed the details in GSTR1 for RCM.

You also take care of place of service to define the applicability of tax like CGST & SGST or IGST . i kindly request to refer section 12 of IGST for the same

this service  covered under RCM , so it is not necessry whether purchase from register dealer or unregister dealer , service recipients are liable to pay the tax
