if I go to a hotel or restaurant and
buy a plate of idli....how can I know that how much tax I have to pay under GST...is there any GST calculator in accordance with these products and services...so that a common people can know the price of GST.
There is a list of Product wise HSN Code wise for GST Rates of each and every category of Supply, if you know the nomenclature then you can look into that list and Find the GST Rate, Now When you head over to purchase that goods either the GST will be inclusive in prices or will be charged separately, The problem shall arise if price is charged inclusively then you would have to Reverse calculate it and thus you will get the Tax amount.

CBEC has also launched a GST Rate finder app on android where technically if you input the common name of the product also then also you may get the actual HSN code and GST Rate
