I recived Rs 49000 as marriage gift . In which column in ITR2, this has to be mentioned?
Regards
Amit
Gifts received at Marriage is not taxable at all
Thanks
thats correct any gifts received on occassion of marriage are fully exempt. You need not show in ITR thus.
Gift received on marriage of whatever amount is not taxable as it is covered by the exemption given u/s 56(2)(vi) and since it is not an exempt income it need not be disclosed in the ITR
