Sir,

I want to efile tax return on behalf of my friends and relatives. It is ok to give my email for the as some of them have no email account. Can I give my email address for correspondence to tax authority?

I have down loaded the ItR-1 software from incometaxefiling.gov.in to efile the data. But it is in zip file or xls file format. I am unable to generate it into xml file format which is needed to upload to submit return.

Please help me to efile tax return within time.

Hello dear,

U can give a single e mail id for many users. there is no problem in it. Department uses the e mail id for sending u the confirmation of returns only.

for ur other problem,,,,check these steps:-

first extraxt the files from the zip file by right clicking on it.

then read the note provided with the excel file.

open the excel file and enable macros as directed in the information file .

fill in the details in the itr 1 and then click genetare .

and there u go...

ur xml file is generated in the path where u saved ur itr1.
