You can change the password using the previous A.Y. E-Filing Acknowledgement number.

> Login

> Forgot Password

> Enter PAN

> Select Enter Acknowledgement number

> Select Assessment Year

> Enter E-Filing Acknowledgement Number

> Enter new password

> Repeat new password

> Enter the code

> Click on Reset password

I have registered for E-Filling but not Confirmation link received on my mail Id, please help me, what can i do for this ??

Directly login to site . They show mail ID which creat by you.

Cheack that mail ID correct o r not ???

Alternatively they asking alternative  Mail ID.

After 24 hours go to the website and try to login there will be a pop up box showing the details that the e mail address may be corrected so that you can receive the link mail to your corrected e mail

If Online return is not filled than no option of acknoewledgment no. is Availbiale .......So suggest any better Idea......

If online return has not been filed previously, then you can reset the password with 'secret question answer' option.

If you have forgotten the same, then send a request mail for reset of password with the login credentials [PAN, Name, DOB/DOI, Fathers Name (NA in case of company), Address as per IT Database] to ask @ incometaxindia.gov.in. You will receive the login details but i cannot assure you how long will it take.

As far as i know we can change password with Previous AY Acknowledgement No, Secret Q & A and sending request mail. Whenever i had any password issue, I changed it with previous year acknowledgement number. But on this forum i have seen that many peoples problem has been resolved by sending request mail (as mentioned earlier). I tried it once but did not receive any mail from department upto 3 days after sending the request and fortunately i managed to get the previous AY ITR-V from the client. So, i cannot assure you how long its going to take. Some of the members at CCI say that it may take upto 3-7 days and some says 24-48 hours and IT Sampark Helpline is useless, it never gets connected.

For password reset and link activation, please send login credentials to validate @ incometaxindia.gov.in. Mails pertaining to these subjects will not be entertained at any other mail id. Please send your request only once. Repetitive mails will be rejected.
