that was institute's way of saying happy diwali.... hope u enjoyed ur diwali, now enjoy this... [evil laugh]

very lengthy paper 5 hrs me pura hota...

My assessment of the Paper :

1.Tough

2.Very Conceptual

3.Lengthy (Very)

VAS - similar to May'12 paper 

Consolidation - No use attending

Amalgamation - Tricky but conceptual

Valuation - Similar to past questions with certain adjustments

Q1.c.DS Rawat (AS-9)

d. I think as-9 and as-2

a.DS Rawat AS-15

3.a.ESOP : Conceptual, indepth knowledge

b.i think as-30 - Conceptual

Brand Valuation : Unheard of, but could write assumptions and dunno..get the basic idea of it

7.a.AS-30

b.AS-19

c.Easy but conceptual (never asked b4)

d.AS-10 and AS-12 application (never asked b4)

e.Basics and i think Accounting policy related so AS-5 (never asked b4)

NOTHING from RTP,PRACTICE MANUAL  (on overall basis)

share based payments,as-15 asked in the same paper !

as-30 asked twice !

next papers dont forget to read RTP, PM

Guys, it's ok. Please don't feel disheartened by the first paper. We all know how CA Final exams are, always some kind of twists and turns. I also had the same feeling when I wrote my first paper. 

Don't think too much about the first paper. Whatever was possible from your side you have done it, now it's out of your hands. You still have 3 papers(Gr I guys)/7 papers (both groups guys) to be written. Just believe that you will do much better than this. 

Please remember one of the important things in CA Final exams, there is always marks for steps even if the final answer is wrong. So in case if you have not followed step wise solution in FR paper, please do the same in other papers. My point is, make sure correct all those errors/mistakes that happened in your FR paper.
