Quick Summary
This discussion explores whether construction expenses for a home intended for office use can be claimed against income tax. The advice given is that the proportional expense of the building used as an office will be capitalised on the balance sheet, with depreciation allowed as an expense. Direct construction costs like labour and materials for the office portion can be capitalised and depreciated.

The proportional expense of the building which will be used as the office will be capitalized in the books in balance sheet & depreciation expense will be allowed.
