 He shall be declared to have passed in that group if he secures at one sitting a minimum of 40 percent marks in each of such papers and a minimum of 50 percent of the total marks of all papers of that group including the paper or papers in which he had secured a minimum of 60 percent marks in the earlier examination referred to above. He shall not be eligible for any further exemption in the remaining paper(s) of that group until he has exhausted the exemption already granted to him in that group.”;

As per ICAI

oh yes you can my mistake

Dear sam

if u have got exemption in paper 1 that is I group and now in Paper 8 that is from the second group, u have got exemption in both the papers, u need to write the balance 3 papers in each group and celar the respective groups with in 3 attempts from the attempt u have got exemption, u need not make any clain for it it is automatic, u need to specify in the application form for May 2013 that u have got exemption in paper 1 and paper 8 in the respective coloums in the aopplication form.

karthi

dear sam,

since u have got exemption in may 12 in paper 4, which is group I and now in paper 8 which is in group II both papers are exempt for the comming May 13 exam

Exemption is valid for 3 attempts from the succeeding attempt eg if u got exemption in May 2012 then it is valid till nov 13.Why don't you call or mail ICAI for clarification.

You can claim Both! Go ahead.. congratulations for 1 Subject..!

Hi sam, i got exemption in paper 4 and paper 6 in may 2012 and I wrote only rest of the 6 papers in nov 12 attempt and cleared both group and considered as pass . So i can say u can carry both exemptions at a time.
