can anybody pls tell is it necessary to learn sections word by word for giving reference in case studies while answering questions in exam??
It would be a false march to do such kind of preparation, dont run after idealistic preparation and other hypothetical concept, ur prep should be more relaistic, practical and comprehensive.
Its not needed or required to learn case laws as well as provisions on word by word manner, its enough if you catch the gist and main ideas behind all the necesary provisions. Make your own notes and go for concept clarity. And answer the same way in exams... thats it

Thank u for valuable reply.. but while going through practice manual of institute to get idea of way of answering a question I found such language that needed to be learned? Specially while explaining content of sections? | ![]() |
Yes Anupama U r Correct the way of answering in the PM Is that only but u can answer the quetions without quoting the relavant Sections......
Hence u can put the sections if u r 100% sure for that....
If u dont put the section in ur answer then also its correct since the concept must be clear.....
U need to understand the concept behind preparing PMs by ICAI. PMs are more or less the compilations of past exam questions and suggested answers. Suggested answers are the Best possible answers that ICAI considers in best case scenarios. Your answers should be closer to the language of PM and module but its not possible to reproduce same concept in the same style under exam pressure and limited time of 3 hrs. Your answer should contain the principles of provisions that will be enough....

Yes thats true.........
U have to attemp the whole in 3 hours..
so it must be Good Clear Concept to write the things..........
Hi Anupama,
As Everyone have given reasonable reply to your question.
I just want to point out that in CA Inter Quotinng Section & Case law is not necessary ICAI just expect from a candidate that one should be Principally correct due to Working level knowledge.
However at Final Level Section & Case laws have importance due to Advance/Expert level knowledge. Accordingly Answer should be produce by Candidate accordingly
Hence ICAI Give its answer in PM by giving citation of case law & Sectinon to maintain level & knowlede that student should try to adopt while answing the question.
So from presentation point of view remember only Main Section & landmark Case law (Supreme court) if possible. However First understand Principle of Section thats enough.
All the best..:-)
