AXapta is an ERP. From your post I assume you understand the practical utility of an ERP.

Would suggest to learn a more commonly used ERP like SAP - the daddy of all ERPs. If your employer is providing free ttraining on Xapta then go for it. 

Any ERP will open lot many opportunities. SAP offers the most both in terms of career & package.
