I have filed many returns using Efiling return software but never tried filing a return on the Income tax site. I need to know if the site allows you to enter data partly and save and then enter rest of the data on someother day back or you have to fill up the entire form and submit at one time.

hey first u got to download the itr from the site ,u can fill half of it save it on ur deskstop,complete it some other day and when its complete b4 due date generate XML and upload it.
Agree with Ashima, download the form first and then fill it up and upload it as per your comfortness.

Save the excel file of IT returns for the relevant AY on to your PC. And you can fill in the data in your own good time. Make sure you enable macro in your excel file. When you are done, excel file will generate another file, which you will upload onto the website. Simple, isn't it?
