Hi Vibhor, it means " Suppose that there are 30 crore population in India in 1950 and the persons engaged in agricultural sector are 15 crore, then we can say that 50% of the Indian population is dependent on agriculture. Similary assume that the population of India in 1980 is 80 crore and the persons engaged in agriculture are 20 crores, it means we can say that only 25% of the Indian population is engaged in agriculture. By observing the above two cases we can say that percentage of Indian population dependent on agriculture have decreased from 50% to 20%, but in absolute terms they increased from 15crore to 20 crore" Hope you understand....bye
