AY 2006-07 E-Filling problem in Assessment order u/s.143(1)

 sir,

we have come to know that today from Income -tax Department, for the AY 2007-08, Self assessment order u/s.143(1) have been issued in that, demand has been raised due to double time calculation under Business and Profession head here we would like to provide a example

suppose an individual whose age is 30 (not senior citizen nor a woman)
whose income from           - salary is Rs.40,000/-
  - business profession is Rs.70,000/-
  - from other source is Rs.20,000/-

hence his total income comes to Rs.1,30,000/-
when we file E-Return in which ITR -IV Generated in that also total income show Rs.1,30,000/- and tax accordingly.
BUT when self assessed order u/s.143(1) calculation will be as under

Salary income Rs. 40,000
Business profession Rs.1,10,000/- (40,000salary + 70,000business profession)
   - this would be happen due to when we input figure in Profit and Loss account there we have seen salary income under BP-Schedule as client profit and loss account is given by party.
  - In short, under computation salary income calculated twice time one under head salary and second profit and loss comes from profit & Loss account. acutally it should be under the head Business and profession where we give all adjustment of addition and deletion. Instead of this, it come direct profit as per profit and loss account.
DUE to this today numerous self assessed order has been passed raising heavy demand after considering duplication calucaltion as shown above.

SIR, we kindly request either made change in whole software or pass required instruction so all can do prepare income tax return in one similar criateria.

Even we prepare Rectification Order u/s.154, to make necessary changes, department can not rectify the same thing. due to this this demand remains continue and never end  or adjust next year refund.

Sir, one more request that, in above type of cases E-Return is first year, if any mistake found at least given a chance to assessee after issuing an intimation how it came kindly give calrification and not directly passed the order u/s.140 raising the demand

THANKS

There were lot of other problems faced by people at the time efiling. eg, when i filed a return of an individual, although there was taxable income and tax was also paid, but the acknowledgement generated was showing NIL in every column. I was also surprised by this. I have no other option but to revise it. I agree with the abovementioned views. This letter must reach to our Finance minister and DT Board members.

Mr. Dhaval it might be possible that the person who is entering data in computer might have not put a negative sign before the amount which is taxed under other head and shown in PGBP head as a part of P & L A/c. As I have also filed E-return and after verifying manually we file e-return. As mistakes normally occur in case of new start, new technology. As such we dosen't get much of these problems, only mistake done by us were revealed out of it. But might be what you experienced is bit due to another reason.
