Aperson submits a return in aphysical form and then wants to submit a revised return by efilng.
The efiling form utility is downloaded does not recognise the ack no of the origionol return submitted physicaly and suggestes that it is to be filed as originol return itself.
When contacted at the CPC bangalore it was informed that if the same is accepted it may be filed.
The return is efiled with revised figures
What is the correct procedure and implication?

The manually filed return has not been uploaded in to the tax department system. Now for the entire year of 2010-11 and later on continuosly, the department wants all returns under e-filing pattern only in order to have proper record in their system. So you have to make it upto date. If any returns are filed in this period manually/physically upload the same in e-filing form and keep a print of it.
