hi..i wrote my pcc exams this november, but got unexpectedly low marks in a few subjects, though my exams went quite well. I just had this query that whether the exam centre has any impact on the result?I gave my exam from a small city in south..and eventhough it might sound stupid, yet i hope there mustnt be any regional biases in results i suppose?cos among all others who mostly belonged to south, i was the only  there punjabi i think...thanks..pls rply!!

So true,

Yes the center matter for those who really think that they dont have any problem or loopholes.

remember the tag line of ICAI

" set up by an act of parliament "

The process of checking is so secret like FBI that even if the papers are with our own principal we will neve get to know.

The papers are sent for checking through out the country so no possibility of Biasnes.

I hope you got your answer.

Dont worry its not only you many of students would have had that idea of changing a center.

Even i had that some point of time.

you should not  think like that...otherwise you will find everything against you  ...suppose one can also think that november exams are better than may or vice versa so i failed or passed , or i was graduate so they pass me or i am undergraduate so didnt pass in one go etc....

just be possitive and confident and you will surely make it  ... its all about hard work and little bit of luck factor ...   do ur best again.. next time :)

There is no option but to trust them.. then prepare and answer to your best.. if you doubt them, you will always have the feeling that no matter how hard I try I'll fail. And if the checking procedure is correct, you will fail because of your mentality, as you didn't prepare well.

You damn sure you should have passed?? Maybe you thought you wrote good answers, but they were not as per the requirements, compare your answers with the suggested.

Now in CA, don't expect or intend to pass by the borderline, you gotta be thorough, prepare with an intention of getting exemption i.e. 60 marks.. or, atleast 50 marks in each subject.. don't intend to somehow manage a 40.. it's a gamble.

As a saying goes, "Shoot for the Moon. Even If You Miss, You'll Land among the Stars."

It's just your thinking that there you were the only punjabi there, there could have been more... The urban legend I have at my place is that ICAI gives preferences to the north-western people, esp. the Gujaratis and the Rajasthanis.. Now that's funny as I know a lot of n-w people who still fail and I also know a lot of people who are not from these regions yet pass..

If you don't trust the Institute, I say leave the course.. Your way or the highway..  or, why don't you experiment changing centres? ;)

its true .......

infact

""centre doesnt matter,

ur centre of focus on d subject matters""......

I don't think that it matters at all in that way. In my opinion what may matter is from which place you are giving exam and how many CA are there already and what is the demand there.

Fine..thanks all for the rplies..i'll be appearing for the exams from the same centre again this time..:)
