The system of articleship is flawed to begin with. On the one hand the ICAI recommends a 35 hour week. Either you enforce this limit strictly, in which case the current stipend is fine.
Or, if an articled assistant is working 10 hours a day or more, then he should be paid a sum which is atleast comparable to that of a regular employee.

Yes it is must As the amount given is very less
Expenses of Food, Vehicle, Room are more than it
It should be at least 3000,5000,7000 for Ist, 2nd & 3rd year respectively.

ofcourse it should be immediate increased
it would be better if it increases 2 n half times
It should be 3000 in 1st year, 5000 in 2nd & 7000 in 3rd year..
I'm in faour of this post & believe that the ICAI should consider the revision of stipend.
both the stipend & the quality of work assigned...shud improve
NO way, the amount of stipend shud b kept at the same levels.
Increasing it will be actually harmful for students.....
The principal will start expecting more work in return.
Instead ICAI should keep the working days of articles of 4 days a week - maximum....ie - 25 hrs....
even i agree with him....we should get good work n appropriate tym for studies....

Please mind one thing that above stiphen rates are only minimum rates which an article in respective years must get.
However, what one actually receives as stephen differs from firm to firm.
You will definitely find some acases where an article of 1st year is getting 5000+.
But I feel that these minimum rates should be increased.
