please suggest how much time department will take to process ITR for AY 2019-20
I have filed my return on 04.09.2019 but still return not processed.
why this time department is taking so much time to process the return.
everytime CPC staff said that anytime you can get intimation under section 143(1) on your mail id but they are not confirming upto which period. there is no problem in your return.

There is no specific time limit to say,your return will be processed within this period.
But usually,for small assesses having no pending assessments returns will be processed within the end of relevant Assessment year.
Since this time many changes has came in processesing the ITR online,there is delay.

Few cases pending like ITR with refund claim.

Yes.Reason is due to deadline for revised return
My further question is that if CPC process the return after 31st March and on the basis of that intimation if we want to revise the return... can we do? I think no then what will we do?

@ Eswar Reddy- According to you, they will give us a chance to revise the return....it mean they will change the law for those taxpayers whose return are processed after 31st March only. and for those taxpayers whole return has been processed upto 31st March they will not be eligible to revise return.
Yes.As per CPC-IT dept, we got the info.
But as present you will not revise your return after 31st march. even after processing return after march by CPC.
No.Just contact CPC once.You get another that they will give an opportunity to revise..
How to Contact them through mail or Help desk?
My itr is also not processed, I filed it on June first week and they still say that they are verifying certain claims and they were sending the same standard mail from past 4 months
I have raised many grievances but there is no update on this
Same situation with me...I also raised many grievances but they are saying since December that after all processing you will get 143(1) intimation.
