Depreciation on improvements

Hi. I have a flat which generates a small rental income. I have recently made alterations/improvements. I just would like to know if one should depreciate  those improvements or not. Rgds

It will depend on what kind of improvement or alteration is done by you. If it is significant, then it will be added to the written down value and you can claim depreciation. Otherwise it will be considered as repairs and maintainence.

since rental income is charged under the head income from house property no depreciation can be claim whether amount is large or small.

Even claim of repairs are also not allowed.

However deduction of 30% can be claimed

Thanks
