Trade investments are those which forms part of OPERATING ASSETS and the income derived from that is considered as operating income.
 

Hi Akram,

Although trade investments are those made to promote and secure ones business, dividend or income on such investment cannot be treated as part of operating income.  Operating income is derieved from the operation of the business.
